Violet is struggling with her biology class and she really needs to graduate, because she has a job lined up. When she talks to her professor he offers her a way to earn extra credit, to comply with his every whim.

This novella has quite a few very hot and steamy scenes with bondage and domination. But it also has a real story, it’s not just sex scenes for the sake of sex scenes. The ending chapters are very surprising, I am not going to give it away and leave that for your own enjoyment. The book is written in first person. In the beginning Violet uses some crude language and interestingly that becomes less and less in the book as she is taught some manners by the Professor. I do like more poetic language but the used language fits the book well. The character development is interesting and significant.

I like that the writer tried to show how the Dom in a BDSM relationship respects the sub’s wishes, especially with the Professor checking in with Violet on a regular basis. There is also a meticulous use of condoms in the book. All in all this is a steamy novella, but with a good story.
