The Nephilim’s Finesse – A hot enemies-to-lovers paranormal

By Eliza Hampstead

This was a hot book, but didn’t have very much BDSM in it, though I was expecting it. It was an interesting story. Vampire Victorija is captured by the Nephilim so they can learn more about the threat the vampires are forming. She and Raph make a deal, I won’t go into what deal because of spoilers. It is a pretty intense book, with lots of mostly vanilla but hot scenes, but also an unusual story and good character descriptions.

Victorija deals with PTSD and from someone who has dealt with it myself, the descriptions of the flashbacks and the reactions are very good. Raph is also interesting as a character.

What bothered me a little is the literary pretzel that the writer has to fold herself into, in order to make the book be an enemies-to-lovers romance without sexual force. There is some very mild bondage happening later on when Raph becomes possessive, but with the warning given with the book I had expected a little more spice throughout the book.
